Bred by Hans Jürgen Evers (1940-2007) (Germany, before 1992).
Introduced in Germany by Rosen-Tantau/Tantau Roses in 1994 as 'Red Velvet'.
Class:
Florists Rose, Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Dark red.  35 petals.  Average diameter 4.25".  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

Carlton Rose Nurseries says this is currently probably the best florist red worldwide... dark red outer petals and very dark, tough foliage...
