A very elegant and small shrub with divergent, skimpy canes armed with reddish prickles that are thin, uneven, slightly curved; the leaves usually have 9 small, lanceolate, evenly toothed, dark green leaflets; the solitary flowers are a delicate pink, petite, well formed, starting out cupped, then flattening out.
