Bred by Reimer Kordes (1922-1997) (Germany, before 1972).
Introduced in Australia by Roy H. Rumsey Pty. Ltd. in 1974 as 'Mabella'.
Introduced in United States by Jackson & Perkins Co. (post 1970) in 1977 as 'New Day'.

Florists Rose, Hybrid Tea.  

Butter-yellow to lemon-yellow, yellow stamens.  Mimosa.  Strong, fruity fragrance.  25 to 35 petals.  Average diameter 4.75".  Large, full (26-40 petals), cupped, high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Pointed, ovoid buds.  

Armed with thorns / prickles, upright.  Large, matte, light green foliage.  

Height: 30" to 4'1" (75 to 125cm).  Width: 39" (100cm).

USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Can be used for beds and borders, container rose, cut flower or garden.  Prefers cool sites..  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to blackspot .  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .  Can be grown in the ground or in a container (container requires winter protection).
