Book (1975) Page(s) 161. T.E.A. [Tess Allen?]. Book review 'Shrub Roses of Today' by Graham Stuart Thomas. Mention is made of the RNRS display garden at Bone Hill and the National Trust's rose collection at Mottisfont Abbey. I had hope the revised edition would have solved my problem about Rosa pendulina plena (flore pleno). The nursery from which I bought it and 'Morlettii' has recently published an erudite manual in which Rosa pendulina flore pleno is given as a synonym of 'Morlettii', but the two roses I planted are quite distinct. Graham Thomas writes: " 'Morlettii', Morlet 1883. Rosa inermis morlettii. Also found under the name of R. pendulina plena, which is of doubtful authenticity."
