Traversi was a lawyer who possessed a beautiful English Garden (as they called the style) in the village of Desio, near Monza. It was "one of the most beautiful in Italy, with a rich collection of exotic plants," Nuovo Itinerario d'Italia, by Jean Marie Vincent Audin, 1832, p. 83.
