'The Little Mermaid' rose References
Book (2005) p81 Maureen Ross. New Release Roses for 2005 from Ross Roses. ‘The Little Mermaid Rose’ (Nolpeg). A charming little rose to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Hans Christian Anderson’s birth, and his enchanting children’s stories. His much-loved tale of The Little Mermaid is remembered with affection by all children and grown-ups, and is now a delightful rose. ‘The Little Mermaid Rose’ has small mauve-pink blooms with a tight spiral of crisp petals, produced in a cluster of dainty buds. The spray has good picking stems, excellent keeping as a cut flower, and perfect blooms for the show-bench. This fragrant rose was bred by Gordon Nolan, from two old favourites - ‘Jean Kenneally’ crossed with ‘Angel Face’. Growing up to 90cm tall, it is suitable for pots and the garden. A 2005 addition in the Australian True Blue Collection. Plant Patent Pending.
