How this rose is classed as a miniflora is beyond me. It is a diminutive plant that hasn't gotten over 12" tall and about 18" wide in four years. Wonderful single pink flowers--the closest to a wild rose in my experience. Bloom size is about 1 1/4". The plant has tiny twiggy growth. Yet it gets smothered with it's satiny pink blooms over a very long season here in So Cal. Easy to propagate, too.

Sorry for the very late reply, Dan, but "miniflora" has a newer meaning for those who know exhibition rules and ARS designations. Thirty years ago, it was coined by Conard Pyle as a marketing term for a class if mini types they marketed and has nothing to do with the ARS type designation. Thank you for the plant of it yesterday, by the way. Always good to see you.

Thanks for the clarification, Kim.
Glad you have Astra again.

Dan, it might make you feel a bit better to know that the patent for this rose is very clear that it is a "miniature"; no mention of "mini-flora".

Thanks, lp
If Astra isn't a mini then I don't know what rose would be.
