Origin:

Bred by Benjamin R. Cant (1827-1900) (United Kingdom, 1903).
Introduced in Australia by Arthur Yates & Co. Ltd. in 1906 as 'Maharajah'.

Class:

Hybrid Perpetual.

Bloom:

Crimson, golden-yellow stamens. Moderate, centifolia fragrance. Average diameter 5". Large, single to semi-double, in small clusters bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Habit:

Bronze-green, leathery foliage.

Height: 4'11" to 6'1" (150 to 185cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 6b and warmer. Can be trained as a climber.
