Origin:

Discovered by Robert Neil Rippetoe (United States, 2002).
Introduced in United States by Sequoia Nursery, Moore Miniature Roses Historic Archive in 2004 as 'Cherry Drop'.

Class:

China / Bengale.

Bloom:

Rose Red, Rose-pink. Strong, fruity, sweet, opinions vary fragrance. Average diameter 2". Small to medium, very double, cupped-to-flat, nodding or "weak neck", old-fashioned, quartered, rosette bloom form. Continuous (perpetual) bloom throughout the season.

Habit:

Armed with thorns / prickles.

Height: 2' to 3' (60 to 90cm). Width: 3' to 5' (90 to 150cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 7b and warmer. Can be grown as a shrub. flowers drop off cleanly. Disease susceptibility: disease resistant. Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) . Can be grown in the ground or in a container (container requires winter protection). Needs little care; relatively disease-free and quite hardy. Prune lightly or not at all. Resist the urge to prune this rose too heavily -- it doesn't like it!.

Breeder's notes:

Typically China in growth habit, culture and climactic tolerance. Appears to be completely infertile though hips are set on rare occasion.
