"Winecup" rose Description

Found Rose, China / Bengale.
Bloom:
Purple - crimson, white streaks. Single to semi-double, in small clusters bloom form. Continuous (perpetual) bloom throughout the season.
Habit:
Medium, bushy. Semi-glossy, dark green, maroon highlights foliage.
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
Patents:

Notes:
Antique Rose Emporium markets a rose under the study name "Winecup." According to the ARE website, "Loose clusters of open, purplish crimson cups reminded us of the Texas wildflower for which this small Floribunda-like rose is named. The only difference is that Winecup the rose sometimes shows streaks of white in the petals and has an apple scent. We received this plant as a once-blooming old Boursault climber, 'Purpurea'. Only the color matches 'Purpurea's' description on this bushy little constant bloomer..." There is a known China rose named 'Purpurea,' a more likely explanation for the name of this rose. Vintage Gardens sells "Winecup" under the name 'Purpurea.'
