....from then [1916] until his retirement from Bees in 1944 he [J.C. Thornton]  introduced over 40 rose varieties, of which the best known were probably "Maud E. Gladstone", "Queen of Bath," and "Col. C. Watson".

Growth vigorous, upright bushy; profuse, continuous bloomer.
