Hans Christian Andersen introduced by Poulsen, Denmark, Medium sized (5cm), semi-double flowers in clusters of 3-10 flowers per cluster. The colour is warm, dark red, and clean. Buds are well formed and show the colour in an early stage. Does not fade. Very free flowering with a wonderful fresh scent. Bushy very vigorous, outbranching plant. Height: 100-120cm or even more in hotter climate. Can also be used as a shrub rose. Dark, glossy foliage with a reddish shine especially on the young shoots. Even growth. Healthy and very hardy plant. Reg. under P.B.R. in Denmark under appl. no. 1817 (Poulander). Silver medal in Belgium at Le Roeulx 1985. Certificate of Merit NZ 1986. Certificate of Merit Orleans 1986.
