Ville de Gand (Gaujard 1950). Described as a fiery red semi-double bloom, it fades rather badly and must improve very considerably to be generally appreciated. It may possibly do better in a cooler climate.

Ville de Gand is a particularly vividly coloured red rose of good form. The plant came from Bundaberg and was rather slow in commencing growth—probably acclimatisation troubles, as four other plants from the same nursery behaved similarly, but all are growing very well now.
