He showed me a mossed, double, pink Hybrid Tea many years ago. It was code named 7 -58-10. He had used it to create ‘Dresden Doll’ and said he had the paperwork all ready to patent it many years before, but never got around to it. The rose repeats its bloom all season as any HT is expected, but is mossed and predated any other modern moss by decades. His coding system indicates it first bloomed in 1958

#7-58-1 (Pink Moss). ...This is a cross of the red floribunda variety Red Ripples x O.M. It is an everbloomin, bush type, floribunda rose which grows into a sturdy bush up to 3 feet tall. Buds are well mossed and open into 3" medium pink flowers with about 20 petals. This was an important step in the breeding of several of the new moss hybrids.

Another seedling we have used in our breeding of moss roses came from a cross of the old red floribunda Red Ripples x 'O.M.) (see Fig...) This selection makes a sturdy bush of the floribunda type. Large well mossed pink buds and flowers are produced all season.
