See also Rosa canina emarginata The synonmy 'Emmeline' = 'Madeline' is incorrect, according to the "Annales de flore et pomone", 'Madeline' is 'Emmeline à fleurs pleine', i.e. Emmeline with full blooms, contrary to the original 'Emmeline', which had semi-double blooms. 'Margin Hip' vs. 'Double Margined Hip' suggests the same.
