Discovered by Charles Christopher Parry (United States, 1882).

Bloom:
Pink or white.  Rosy purple or white.  Mild fragrance.  5 petals.  Average diameter 1".  Small, single (4-8 petals) bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  
Habit:
Short, armed with thorns / prickles, sends out runners, spreading, well-branched.  5 to 7 leaflets.  

Height: 2' to 4' (60 to 120cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 9b and warmer.  Can be used for specimen.  Benefits from winter protection in colder climates.  drought resistant.  prefers dry climates.  prefers full sun.  prefers warmer sites.  Do not prune.

Subgenus Hesperhodos.
Subgenus Hesperhodos encompasses two species: Rosa stellata and Rosa minutifolia.

See References for two color forms of this species: Rosa minutifolia f. minutifolia, with pink flowers and Rosa minutifolia f. albiflora, with white flowers (uncommon).
Rosa minutifolia in commerce in Europe seems to be mislabeled.
