‘Anna de Diesbach’/’Anna von Diesbach’/’Gloire de Paris’/’Glory of Paris’: Hybrides Remontants. Obtenteur: Lacharme, 1858. .. fleurs, rose carminé lavé de nuances argentées, en forme de coupes, puis s’aplatissent, le coeur garni de pétales chiffonnés…. quelques fleurs apparaissent en automne.

‘Anna de Diesbach’/’Anna von Diesbach’/’Gloire de Paris’ = Hybride Remontant – rose intense, remontant… bouton effilé… grande fleur double en coupe, d’un rose intense plus foncé au centre, de 10cm de diamètre… rosier, grand et vigoureux, refleurit jusquen automne. Le feuillage est vert glauque et les rameaux, robustes, ne sont armés que d’aiguillons modestes. L’obtenteur avait dédié cette rose à la fille de la comtesse de Diesbach de Fribourg en Suisse. Lacharme, France, 1858.

... rich pink, strongly fragrant flowers shaded with deeper pink... Recurrent flowering... if the plant is weak or not doing well, a hard cut-back may restore health. Do this when all flowering has finished in late summer or autumn...

Anna de Diesbach ('Anna von Diesbach') Hybrid Perpetual. Lacharme, 1858. Seedling of 'La Reine'. [Author cites information from different sources. The Journal des Roses says Lacharme "dedicated it to the daughter of the Countess of Diesbach, amateur rosarian of Fribourg, Switzerland."] Brilliant glossy pink... beautiful carmine pink with reflections... light crimson... produced by Mons Lacharme in 1849, he grew it for nearly ten years to study it well, he released it to commerce in November, 1858

Peter Beales identified a rich pink, upright growing and very free flowering Hybrid Perpetual, very common in old gardens as ‘John Hopper’ and Gwen Fagan identified a rich mauvy pink, very double Hybrid Perpetual as Anna de Diesbach.
