Note for Identification: Petals have a blotchiness or marbled air brushed look with the coral over the ivory-white petal base color.

It just occurred to me that they named this rose to be a synonym for 'Secret'.

The world may love Secret as you state below but for me, in my conditions of zone 5b near Chicago, Soft Whisper is a superior rose to Secret in just about every way. Very upright grower, vigorous, fragrant, long lasting in vase and beautiful soft coloring. Disease free for me with 10-14 day spraying.
Secret is somewhat of an unruly grower and is prone to yellowing lower leaves as the season wears on in my garden. Yes Secret has fragrance and a very attractive bloom but it has nothing on Soft Whisper in the fragrance or bloom beauty departments. Secret is a good rose but Soft Whisper is better than good. It's another underrated and underplanted Keith Zary HT which everyone should grow.
Commercial success does not always equate to quality (e.g. Rose Rhapsody) as you well know.

I agree. Secret is not a good plant at all. Mine died from a flash freeze here many years ago.
Edit: I think my overall point is moaning about white blend and pink blend being so oversaturated as a large chunk of choices.
Rose shows are similar. Like 50 billion 'Gemini' lining the tables and its like... Why did I go again?
So, yeah, I'm just whining about the phenomenon :]

After another year I conclude that this rose is a bit slow growing, but strong. It's sparse blooms are huge, stunning and wonderfully fragrant and should be more widely planted in a cutting garden.

Already pulled from the J&P catalog after only 2 years. Didn't ever see it in the local garden centers that are inundated with the J&P army.

If JP ever wants to be popular again, its probably a good thing for them. The world needs another "pink/white blend" HT like it needs a hole in its foot. Besides, the world has spoken for quite a long time. It loves 'Secret'. And JP produced one of the best white HTs to date, PJP2. Like, give these colors a rest for a while and sell new ideas, lol.

I felt the same as you until I saw this at a rose show last week. It’s a huge high centered flower with loads of potential as an exhibition rose. Gigantic stems and large dark green foliage. Plus, it has a deep intense fragrance very different from Secret and more llike Fragrant Cloud or Firefighter. It was available on the $8 sale so I ordered 2!.
