Leafhoppers are small light-green to grey insects that feed on the underside of leaves. Heavy feeding leaves white stippling on leaves. Cast skins are left on the underside of heavy stippled leaves. The immature young are white with red eyes, visible but are hard to distinguish from other pests with an ordinary hand lens. Most leafhopper damage is tolerable.
