[From "Dad and his Roses", by Mary Buck, Spring/Fall 2008, pp. 14-21] Barn Dance In his attempt to breed a red rose, Dad almost discarded a pink seedling of ‘Prairie Princess.’ Luckily he didn’t discard it because this pink seedling almost received the All-America Rose Selection Award. Its only fault was that in some southern areas of the country, it grows overly large and develops floppy blooms. This is ‘Carefree Beauty.’

Includes photo(s). ‘Carefree Beauty’/BUCbi/ ‘Audace’ = Arbuste… arbuste très populaire… petits bouquets de 3 ou 4 petits boutons pointus… grande fleur rose vif, odorantes et ébouriffées, formées de 10 à 20 pétales et larges de plus de 10cm. La floraison de juin, explosive, est suivie de rappels constants… feuillage vert olive, très lisse, résiste sans faiblir aux maladies. C’est un arbuste au port droit, bien étoffé, toujours en fleur, idéal pour une haie sans souci, mais superbe aussi en sujet isolé. Ses fruits rouge orangé ajoutent à son charme en hiver.
