Book (1872) Page(s) 154-155. C. VITICELLA PALLIDA ( Jackman ).— A cross- bred variety between C. lanuginosa and C. Viticella, raised at Woking, following somewhat the character of the former parent in having the flowers large, broad petaled, and expanded ; they are of a lilac hue, with reddish bars in the centre of the sepals, and being distinct in colour, and judged useful for contrast, it was awarded a Second-class Certificate at South Kensington in 1864. It has, however, been with drawn from cultivation, as being inferior to the varieties of the Jackmanni type.
