Lady Caroline Nevill in its general character, but it is of a somewhat more freely-blooming habit, with sepals more pointed, and of a darker shade of colour. The leaves are simple or ternate, with ovate cordate leaflets. The flowers are about eight inches across, and consist of eight broadly oblong-ovate acuminate sepals, which are of a delicate or pale silvery mauve, with a deeper mauve-coloured bar, and the stamens have white filaments and pale brown anthers. This variety is said to be sweet-scented, the scent being evident at night. A First-class Certificate was granted to it, at South Kensington, in October, 1867.
