'Cleopatra' clematis References
Magazine (1888) Clematis Cleopatra is a new hybrid between Cl. integrifolia and Cl. viticella, bred by Lemoine. She could be almost grouped among the herbaceous group and used for decoration of large gardens where she would form groups or masses of great beauty. She does not climb, the foliage reminds of Cl. viticella, but it is more leathery and the individual blackish green leaflets more rounded. The blooms are carried on the tips of all branches, are smaller than those of C. Durandi, but of the most beautiful sky blue.
