I purchased this vine spring 2010 and kept it in a gallon pot until February 2011. Pendragon really took off once planted in the ground. In spite of an extremely dry and unusually hot summer with many days reaching100 degrees, Pendragon seems to produce a cycle of bloom after each time it gets a deep watering.
