I have a south facing "sunset" clematis planted in the spring of 2002. It has grown considerably to a height of 6 feet on a trellis. My question is two fold:

1) It has never bloomed, is there something i can do to assist it with blooming this year?

2) When is the most suitable time for pruning this rather young plant? My zone here is 5( i believe) -southwestern, Ontario, Canada.

If you could assist me that would be great
