Bred by Tim Hermann Kordes (Germany, 1995).
Introduced in Canada by Palatine Roses as 'Eliza'.
Introduced in Germany by W. Kordes' Söhne (Retail) in 2004.

Class:

Hybrid Tea.

Bloom:

Pink, darker reverse. Silvery pink upper. Moderate, wild rose fragrance. 25 to 30 petals. Average diameter 4.25". Large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, cupped-to-flat bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Long, pointed, ovoid buds.

Habit:

Medium, bushy, compact, upright. Medium, semi-glossy, dark green, leathery foliage. 5 leaflets.

Height: 35" to 47" (90 to 120cm). Width: up to 32" (up to 80cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 5b through 9b. Can be used for container rose, cut flower or garden. Remove spent blooms to encourage re-bloom. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

‘Acapella’ x ‘unnamed seedling’ in May 1995. First selections were made in May 1996. They were budded onto Rosa canina rootstock and planted in open. In 1997 second selection was made and tested till 2004. Introduction and first sales took place in Spring 2005. Breeder: W. Kordes’ Sohne Rosenschulen, Germany.

The new variety of rose plant of the present invention originated from a controlled crossing during the summer of 1995 in a breeding program between `TANallepa`, a non-patented rose and an un-named seedling.
