Red. Moderate fragrance. Large, double (17-25 petals) bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Ovoid buds.
Habit:
Upright, well-branched. Dark green foliage.
Height: up to 5' (up to 150cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer. Can be used for cut flower. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
Notes:
The bud is deep red, the bloom is medium red when open. This rose was bred by the great-grandfather of one of the present owners of Carlton Rose Nurseries and it is still a major cut rose variety.
