Origin:
Bred by Hippolyte Jamain (France, 1878).
Introduced in Australia by J. Scott & Son. in 1889 as 'Paul Jamain'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Crimson, violet-red shading.  Large, double (17-25 petals) bloom form.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Parentage:

Notes:
'Marguerite Brassac', 'Paul Jamain' and 'Sir Garnet Wolseley' were declared synonyms of 'Charles Lefèbvre' in 1885 - see References. However, these were originally considered as distinct roses.
