New Roses 1929
Advocate (HT) (A. Dickson, 1928). The bud and young flowers are rich crimson red, deeply veined and shaded darker crimson with a brightened zone at the base of each petal. The buds are very long and pointed growing into a noble free bloom, built of large deep petals set in high spiral formation, quite up to exhibition standard. The growth is vigorous and free, forming a bush of the best bedding type, carrying the blooms on wiry stems. Richly fragrant. 5/- each.
Colour is not very constant but may improve in Autumn
