Bred by Jean-Baptiste (père) Guillot (1803-1882) (France, 1859).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1863 as 'Baron de Gonella'.

Bloom:
Pink, lilac highlights, silver(y) reverse.  Moderate fragrance.  up to 40 petals.  Average diameter 4.75".  Very large, full (26-40 petals), cupped, globular bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Few or no prickles/thorns, upright, well-branched.  

Height: 47" to 4'11" (120 to 150cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 5b through 10b.  Hardy.  vigorous.
