According to Jules Margottin, 'Panachée d'Orléans' falls back often to 'Baronne Prévost'; also it can happen that both roses are found on the same plant. - see References. Margottin also states that Panachée d'Orléans' can be discerned from 'Mme Désirée Giraud' by its being almost thornless, while the latter has very fine and very numerous prickles.
