Bred by Pierre Guillot (1855-1918) (France, 1889). Bred by Jean-Baptiste André (fils) Guillot (1827-1893) (France, 1889).
Introduced in Australia by Robert Rattray's Rosebank Nursery in 1894 as 'J.-B. Varonne'.

Tea.  
Bloom:
Carmine-pink.  Strong fragrance.  Large, double (17-25 petals), cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Long buds.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
