Allen C. Bodine Passed away in the early morning hours on May 22, 2006 at his home in Redwood City, CA, after a lengthy illness with HIV disease. He died peacefully with his best friend and life partner of 21 years, Frank Adair, M.D., lovingly by his side. He was born to Alvina Arndt Bodine and Walter Bodine, both deceased, on November 18, 1947, in Bay City, MI. Allen was a graduate of T.L. Handy High School in 1965 and received a BS degree from Western Michigan University in 1969. After working as a teacher for several years he made a career change into computer science and data processing with American Express Financial Services in Delaware, MD, later advancing his career to president and CEO of West Shore Computer Services in Scottville, MI. He retired at age 41 to work with his life partner as project administrator on an NIMH Grant at the University of Hawaii School of Medicine. This grant was to provide AIDS education to health care providers in the Hawaiian Islands and throughout the Pacific Rim. After his time with the grant ended in 1988, Allen and his partner moved to the Bay Area where he developed a highly successful real estate career with Coldwell Banker in Redwood City, CA. Allen is survived by many family members who are all residents of Michigan. These include his sisters and brother: Ilene Darbee, Donna Shorkey, Janet Ventmiglia, Norma Bodine and John Bodine.
