Bred by Wilhelm J.H. Kordes II (1891-1976) (Germany, circa 1940).
Introduced in Germany by W. Kordes' Söhne (Retail) in 1950 as 'Till Uhlenspiegel'.
Class:
Hybrid Rubiginosa.  
Bloom:
Red, white center.  Moderate fragrance.  5 petals.  Average diameter 3".  Medium, single (4-8 petals), open bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  Pointed buds.  
Habit:
Arching.  Large, glossy, dark green foliage.  

Height: 5' to 10' (150 to 305cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
