Bred by Frederick Huber Howard (United States, 1937).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1939 as 'Major Shelley'.

Bloom:
Crimson - scarlet.  up to 35 petals.  Average diameter 5.5".  Very large, full (26-40 petals), high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Pointed buds.  
Habit:
Bushy.  Dark green, leathery foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Very vigorous.
