Bloom:

Apricot or apricot blend. Strong, fruity, tea rose fragrance. up to 120 petals. Average diameter 3.25". Medium to large, very full (41+ petals), borne mostly solitary, cupped-to-flat, old-fashioned, rosette bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Medium, pointed, ovoid buds.

Habit:

Tall, arching, bushy, climbing. Medium foliage. 5 to 7 leaflets.

Height: 47" to 11'10" (120 to 360cm). Width: 4' (120cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Can be used for cut flower, garden, pillar or shrub. Remove spent blooms to encourage re-bloom. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

in 1990 seed parent unnamed seedling crossed with pollen parent ‘Auscot’ syn Abraham Darby. The seeds produced were sown Jan 1991 (Northern Hemisphere). From this seedling population, a promising seedling was selected from which six buds were grafted to ‘Laxa’ rootstock. This seedling (to be known as ‘Auswinter’) was further trialled and in 1994 selected for multiplication.
First sold in UK in May 1999.

'Auswinter' originated from a cross between two English rose varieties which took place at David Austin Roses, Albrighton, United Kingdom in 1990. The variety was selected for its apricot-orange colouration, old-fashioned flower shape, good fragrance and disease resistance.
