Origin:
Bred by Vincenz Berger (1883 - 1974) (Germany, 1928).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1930 as 'Schwabenland'.
Class:
Hybrid Rugosa.  
Bloom:
Pink blend.  Amaranth-pink.  Moderate fragrance.  Very large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary bloom form.  Prolific, blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, upright.  Large foliage.  

Height: up to 3' (up to 90cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Hardy.  vigorous.
