Bred by James Charles Thornton (United Kingdom, before 1931).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Bees of Chester / Sealand Nurseries Ltd. in 1931 as 'Queen of Bath'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1933 as 'Queen of Bath'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Butter-yellow to golden-yellow, orange shading, deep yellow outer petals, light pink flecks.  Flowers deep butter-cup yellow, outer edges chrome-yellow.  Strong, tea fragrance.  Medium, semi-double to double, high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Long, pointed buds.  
Habit:
Upright.  Glossy, bronze-green, leathery foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for beds and borders or garden.  Vigorous.
