Bred by James Lee (United Kingdom, before 1826).

Centifolia, Hybrid Gallica.

White or white blend. Large, double (17-25 petals), globular bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer.
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Notes:
Calvert is a misunderstanding in the translation of the "Manuel" of Boitard: It is not a synonym of 'Globe blanc', but means this name was used in the nursery of Calvert, as was 'Boule de Neige' by Vibert; both for 'Glope Hip' of Lee. 'Rosa centifolia Leea' or 'Lee's' which has been used only in Germanic countries has been added as a possible synonym to 'Boule de Neige'.
