Origin:
Bred by Albert Norman (United Kingdom, 1947).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1949 as 'Red Ensign'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Crimson.  Strong, damask fragrance.  40 to 45 petals.  Average diameter 4.5".  Large, very full (41+ petals), high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Dark green foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Same parentage as 'William Harvey' and 'Ena Harkness'
