Origin:
Bred by George Paul (1841-1921) (United Kingdom, before 1903).
Introduced in Australia by C. H. Halstead in 1904 as 'Repens Alba'.
Class:
Hybrid Rugosa, Species Cross.  
Bloom:
White.  Mild to strong, clove fragrance.  5 petals.  Average diameter 3.5".  Large, single (4-8 petals), cluster-flowered bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Arching, armed with thorns / prickles, bushy, climbing, spreading, well-branched.  Large, glossy, dark green, wrinkled (rugose) foliage.  5 to 7 leaflets.  

Height: 3' to 6'7" (90 to 200cm).  Width: 6' to 13'1" (185 to 400cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4a through 5b.  Can be used for ground cover.  Vigorous.
