Origin:
Bred by Jean-Baptiste Croibier (France, before 1927).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1929 as 'Souvenir de Nungesser'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Carmine-red.  Moderate fragrance.  Large, full (26-40 petals), high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Ovoid buds.  
Habit:
Upright.  Dark green foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Dedicated to Charles Nungesser (March 15, 1892 Paris - Mai 8, 1927 Atlantic Ocean), French aviator, who tried together with François Coli (June 5, 1881 Marseille - Mai 8, 1927 Atlantic Ocean) to fly nonstop from Paris to New York in order to win the Orteig-Prize. Their plane "L'Oiseau Blanc" disappeared and possibly crashed near Maine.
