Mauve or mauve blend Grandiflora. Registration name: MACsupbowExhibition name: Cologne
Bloom:
Mauve or purple blend. Pale, silvery lavender. Strong, apple, spice, tea fragrance. 17 to 25 petals. Average diameter 5.5". Double (17-25 petals), cluster-flowered, high-centered bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Habit:
Few or no prickles/thorns, upright. Large foliage.
Height: 43" to 6'7" (110 to 200cm). Width: 30" to 39" (75 to 100cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 7b and warmer. Blooms tend to ball in wet weather. Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that. Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .

... flowers of a pale, silvery lavender coloration... Parentage: Kortember x Arolaqueli... high-centered... with a strong penetrating tea to apple, spicy fragrance... nearly thornless... Although not as tall as some grandifloras, its bloom size coupled with large basal candelabras in late summer and fall place it well within the confines of the grandiflora class... bears its flowers sometimes singly, usually in clusters of three to five or more per stem... strong long stems (about 40 to about 60 cms)... the bloom ranges from about 12 to about 14 cms. in diameter... Petallage is double with about 20 to 24 petals... petals usually drop off cleanly... and are affected by cold, wet, weather exhibiting rainspotting and reddish discoloration... Cut roses generally last two to three days... No hips have been observed on this variety when grown in Wilsonville, Oregon... an above average degree of resistance to powdery mildew and blackspot and rust... about 150 to about 200 cms. in height and about 75 to about 100 cms. spread at the widest point...

Michael at Michael's Premier Roses says the only modern rose that's more fragrant than this one is Double Delight...
