Started out gardening as a kid growing bulbs and seeds; daffodils and gladiolus especially, later worked citrus from propagation to harvest in the Galilee in the 1970s and now garden in Valley Village, California where I raise a variety of blueberries, figs, guavas, pomegranates, plums, apricots and (mostly) own-root citrus & fortunella - citron, bergamot, kumquats, limequats, Lummi Helu (Palestinian Sweet Lime) and a variety of true limes, both sweet and sour oranges, and pumellos and pumello hybrids; as well as California Concord grapes, strawberries and passionfruits. I still love my daffodils and glads (though we are in zone 10 -Sunset 20 - we have plenty enough chill for virtually all daffodils, but since I only naturalize them and don't chill or force I do without crocus or garden tulips) and have a large variety of fresias and lillies, and try to grow whatever species tulips that don't need a hard freeze.
I started in on roses late in life, and try to acquire those with scent. I don't seem to have a rose garden per se, just scores of roses worked into a cottage garden disguising an orchard and berry patch.
