Growing roses for at least 40 yrs in many different climate areas. At present in a mountain location ideal for roses with rich red soil and (usually) dependable rainfall. At present have a largish garden with 300+ roses of mostly old Teas, Bourbons, China’s, a few Hy Perpetuals, new Hy Teas, Floribundas, polyanthas, groundcovers. Minis, a few standards, climbers, shrubs. I enjoy propagating for fun and if I was several decades younger I may have been more interested in breeding roses. Very interested in the parentage of the roses I grow. I have been retired for some years and now my husband and I are both interested in rose cultivation. A garden keeps you fit and healthy and it’s also great for mental wellbeing.
