I grew up on a small farm in Northern California which I have recently returned to. We used to have a large vegetable patch and lots of berry plants, with a few ornamental plants in the front yard. Now that there aren't a bunch of kids to feed, I don't raise veggies anymore, and am in the process of developing a large ornamental yard where the garden used to be. My main interest is roses which grow very welll here, but I am also planning on adding a few fruit trees and some hydrangeas and rhododendrons.
