Arvid`s garden, Lista, southwestern coast of Norway, June 2009. A wonderful rose, in full flush at a time when few other roses have ever thought of starting their season. A favourite,

Arvid`s garden Lista , south western coast of Norway. An extremely vigorous rambler in my garden. Highly recommendable. Unfortunately the flowers are not very rain tolerant. August 2005

Part of my garden before the main flush of the roses. A number of roses are waiting in line to start. Up the appletree is Lykkefund. On the arche to the left are Etude, Mme Plantier and on the other side New Dawn and Honorine de Brabant. Twigs of Paul`s Himalayan Musk are popping out from another appletre down by the trunk of which a Buff Beauty is waiting. Up front right are Maria Liesa, Veilchenblau and Maxima. The only rose in bloom is Aicha next to a Deutzia in the background. But of course there are lupines, white polemoneums, blue Irises, Geraneum platypetalum ,Brannliljer(Fire Lilies) as we call them in Norwegian, and Centaurea Montana to compensate for these shortcomings. Photo taken in June 2009.

Arvid`s garden Lista southwestern coast of Norway July 2008. Together with Sander`s White Rambler (right) it has now taken control of my gazebo, and with my consent at that. However we have agreed on a compromise. I am allowed to enjoy the inside of my gazebo while the ramblers are left in control of the outside activities which of course I also enjoy very much. American Pillar has a stunning growing potential with stems easily reaching 4-5 meters during a summer season even in our Norwegian climate. It is a bit prone to mildew, but so far the mildew has been left chanceless to deal with such a profusely growing plant.

The front of my house with roses taken in July 2009. "Felicia" is in full flush. The salmon pink rose is "Rosenresli" which is a bit difficult to handle as she seemis to have a distinct wish to become a climber. Some flowers of "Coral Dawn" and "Louise Odier" are also visible. The two "Fairies" at each side of the entrance have just started to bloom. The red roses bottom right are of "The Dirigent". The blue flowers are lavenders.
