I have a backyard garden in West Los Angeles with about 20 rosebushes in the ground and 10 in pots. What's most notable about it is how almost all of my David Austin roses have become climbers -- The Herbalist, Pat Austin, Wenlock and Lucetta, in addition to Graham Thomas. Except for Graham Thomas, they are less fulsome than my hybrid teas, but they are leggy with strong, very long canes that bloom profligately in the spring and much less later. Maybe I'm not fertilizing them properly in the summer, but what a spectacular spring I have!
