My backyard is entirely roses with strawberries and herbs growing underneath the roses. I live near the coast in Southern California which allows my minis to bloom all year if I do not trim them too much. Since the roses began to breed freely and naturally, I began working with my own crosses in the minis. In 2022 I registered my first rose. My criteria for registering is that I have propagated it, it grows with no assistance and that it is pretty and different. They must be hardy enough to survive without me intervening. Since we are very prone to rust, powdery mildew and black spot, they must be very hardy. In my very small back yard I have been able to pack 150 roses very close together.
