Friedrich August Pollmer (June 6, 1839 Sitzenroda, Saxony - January 1, 1929 Weinböhla, Saxony). town gardener at Grossenhain (March 15, 1875 - December 1, 1909).

[From Rangliste der Edelsten Rosen, Friedrich Schneider II., 1883 Berlin:] Pollmer, F., town gardener of Grossenhain, president of the Gardening Society (Gartenbau-Verein).

[From Die Gartenwelt, March 26, 1904, Vol. 8, p. 312:] The town gardener Friedrich Pollmer in Saxony celebrated his 50th year as gardener on February 17th. ...He was born on June 6, 1839 at Sitzenroda near Torgau and spent his apprentieship at the castle nursery Hof in Saxony and worked afterwardds in various nurseries in Leipzg and Dresden....On March 13, 1875 he was given the position of town gardener at Grossenhain.
